I'm pretty sure the clock went the same last year...they'd put it at 40 after the play, but then it randomly skips to 25, so it's not really a true 40 second clock, it's still more like the old rules where the refs just spot it whenever they feel like it and start the clock at 25. A 40 second clock would allow us to play 15 minute quarters with chew clock on and make it fairly realistic.

not really, the CPU doesn't use chew clock all game, so it would screw up the time of possession as the CPU would be snapping the ball with 30+ seconds on the play clock. there needs to be an true accelerated clock to be able to truly use 15 minute quarters.

thus why I said 'fairly' realistic, not realistic

time of possession is highly overrated anyway...each team gets the same number of possessions in the game, never got what the big deal was about

While time of possession isn't really all that important, I still think it adds a big realism factor to be able to play 15 minute quarters.

Also, we get some AI problems the way it is now, i.e. the computer starts running a 2-minute offense with 2 minutes left, but since the game is so accelerated relative to the clock, they end up scoring with 1 minute left and then the other team gets the ball back and does the same thing lol.
