We went from too many blocked kicks on last gen, to it being impossible on next gen. I think another reason special teams, and especially returns are flawed is because the wrong players are back to receive. At some point I will have to do some depth chart tweaking to get the right return men back there.

I suspect NCAA 11 will get a lot of special teams attention as it has been neglected since last gen.

Also, there is no bad snap logic or slips. The weather that affects the qbs/wrs doesn't hold true to special teams. Every punt snap is dead-on so you basically have no time to get in there.

I use punt block return, the AI always audibles to safe punt giving them less coverage, and they either punt it out of bounds about 25-30 yards down field, or punt it right to you and you can get a good 15 yard return. I've been able to break a few for td's doing this.

Doesn't work against a human of course, since they won't audible to safe punt.

I think if EA ever implemented blocked kicks in a realistic fasion (along with bad snaps) I think the average gamer would create about 1000 threads on various message boards bashing EA.

"The cpu cheats!"
"I had the game won until they blocked a kick!"
"EA sucks!"
Of course those same people would ignore every time it happened in their favour.

Despite the fact we just saw it in the Iowa-Penn St. game and Va. Tech seems to block a million kicks a year, I think realism in this case would cause more anger among the average gamer. This is a case of sim not being good for sales.
