erm, you can move teams throughout different conferences

In NCAA 10, you could change the conferences that teams were in prior to the start of the season. In your OD you could only do it once before the start, and then if you wanted to do it again, you would've had to have your commisioner take the OD offline to accept the invite then take it back online and reinvite everyone.

you can rearrange the teams around, however, you have to maintain the same number of teams per conference. so 12 teams in the Big 12, 10 in the Pac-10, 11 in the Big Ten, etc...

What I've found successful is rotating conferences.

Move the Pac 10 to the Big Ten and add a school
Move the Big Ten to the Big XII and add a school
Move the Big XII remnants to the Big East and lose a few schools
Move the Big East remnants to the Mountain West and lose BCS Eligibility (Which will happen if they lose enough memebers)
Move the MWC to the Pac 10 and add a school (Boise State)

Then you're all set, hoss.

Even if the Big East loses members, nothing will happen for 27 months after their intentions are declared because they are bound by their contracts to remain in the league for 27 months after declaring they would leave.
