2009: Made only appearance of the season at Texas Tech after battling an injury during the first five games... Carded one tackle, which went for a one-yard loss, against the Red Raiders.

2008: Appeared in all 12 games, starting the final 10... A freshman All-American by Sporting News, the FWAA, Phil Steele and College Football News... Also an honorable mention All-Big 12 performer... Finished the year with 45 total tackles, 10.5 for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles... Ranked first nationally among freshmen with 10.5 tackles for loss, ninth in the Big 12 Conference with 10.5 tackles for loss, first in the Big 12 among freshmen defensive linemen in tackles, seventh in the Big 12 among all defensive linemen in total tackles, fifth in the Big 12 among all freshmen defenders with 45 total tackles and second in the Big 12 among freshmen with 3.0 sacks... Was one of 11 Wildcats with at least 40 tackles... Also led K-State in tackles for loss... Turned in six stops, including two for a loss, and a forced fumble at Colorado... Recorded a career-high seven tackles against Louisiana to go along with a career-best two sacks and three tackles for loss... Recorded five tackles, two of which went for loss, and collected his first career sack at Louisville... Recorded three takedowns, including 0.5 for loss, in his debut against North Texas... Followed that up with a monstrous game vs. Montana State, collected six tackles, including three for a loss of seven yards."
