Yeah I usually either do one of two things. One option I'll do is take control of a mid range school, so there's some rebuilding, but can still get some big action. The other option is I take one big school, and create a really really small unskilled school and play as both.

Not a bad idea. Might have to take Cinci, and then if/when I get bored I can start with a scrub school.

Re: offline dynasty: Small school vs big schools

Typically, I used anywhere from 3 to 5 teams in one dynasty. Although the progression is slower, I can satisfy all of the challenges within the dynasty mode. Being a die-hard UK fan, I always build them to a level that can only happen in a video game and take on a few other randoms to add interest to the dynasty. Personally, I would prefer to have multiple teams in one dynasty rather than hosting multiple dynasties.

Either way...

Its a great aspect of the game...

3 hours and counting...

I always do Texas until I get bored of it, then I move on to a small school. Last year my teams were Wyoming and UTSA(plays this year).

So, if I want to run a pro style, but want to be Michigan, I'll just use Stanford's playbook(John Harbaugh was the QB for a while under Bo, and to be honest, no matter wht he said, he will most likely be RR's successor, so all those fans who feel betrayed with what he said, better start getting over it, I've been over it and I really like him...besides that, I feel he was 100% correct with what he said, now was it really the time to say it? no and should he have kept it to himself? maybe, but fact is he is a Michigan Wolverine at heart and wants to coach Michigan, we want a Michigan man, he is a Michigan man.) And I'll just go back to the old Michigan. If I want to run a pistol, but want to use Army, I'll use the pistol playbook or Nevada's playbook with Army. If I want to use Washington, but want to go Air Raid, I will.

Anyway, I really want to try Texas A&M in this game and Arkansas. I played a few exhibition matches with A&M in '10 and really loved using them. And I want to use Ryan Mallet and see how effective he is in this game.
Off topic, but I'm pretty sure that's the longest parenthesized block of words I've ever seen

Back on topic, I'm definitely more of a small-school dynasty player.

Re: offline dynasty: Small school vs big schools

I like the challenge of taking a small school and building them up to a real contender. Once I feel that I have reached my goal I like to see what other options are out there. I may go again go to a small school or an average mid-range one.

The great thing about dynasties is you're not limited to one haha.

I always start with Maryland. Good balance between powerhouse and small school..lets be honest my terps have seen some better days. Then probably go with a small school until I get bored, and then go with ohio state as my favorite powerhouse. I agree there is something very rewarding and gratifying about building up a small program to be dominant.

Re: offline dynasty: Small school vs big schools

I do small schools, so yea not really that many good rivalries.

This year hopefully better teams drift towards the bottom, I don't usually pick teams in BCS conferences but if they do bad enough I may choose one, change things up a little bit.
