Why does my 360 freeze up when I join an online lobby?

I'll have to try this when I get home this evening. My xbox froze up so many times last night. Ticked me off something serious.

*Edit* Just wondering, what will clearing the cache do to my system?? I don't want to delete something I may need in the future.

Thanks for the fast response and I must say that I have been converted BACK to EA Sports for football solely b/c of this edition of NCAA. Fantastic game. Maybe TOO GOOD b/c I will not be purchasing Madden 11.

Clearing the cache deletes all sorts of temporary save information that different games place on your console knowing you will not need it beyond the immediate future. If you clear it you won't ruin anything.
