How Do You Stop The Run?

So, in my online dynasty I played Cal (a user) while using WSU. And I got it up the *** in this game from his running back, he had over 300 rushing yards against me. He did a lot of pitches/outside runs and managed to get 10+ yards every time, at least it seemed like it. So any plays, formations, playbooks, etc on how to stop that?

try running 3-4 and try different blitzes

and use a player ur FS or SS

I like running the 3-3-5 against humans, esp if i know they run outside a lot. Also most people run to whichever side of the field has more space.

Control the LBs and either get tackles or force them to cut back inside. Maybe try blitzing some corners to since they end up in the direct path of the runner.

You use the multiple D playbook for the 3-3-5, correct?

I've been having trouble stopping tosses consistently as well.. People online can toss it and have light for days.. There's no one in sight to take on their 2 or 3 pulling blockers.
