He was 4th on my depth chart for Utah State. And the No. 70 quarterback came in as a 63.

Progression also isn't taking effect basically 1 or 2 point increases each year.

I know it's beating a dead horse and they're coming out soon with it, but I can't even play dynasty until this gets fixed.
Anyone that's takes a Dynasty seriously should be agreeing with this...

So how are the tuner sets going to be downloaded? Will it update like a patch or do we have to find it somewhere in the menu's???

Peace

All I know is, if this doesn't come end up coming out this week for whtever reason, it'd better be perfect whenever it actually does come out.

If you notice when the game loads and you are online, one of the several things that reads across the screen during the initial load process is "Updating Tuner Set", or something to that effect. My guess is we will need a confirmation from EA that the "new" tuner set has been uploaded. That confirmation should come with details on the updates.

It usually checks for tuner changes everytime the game loads. The dynasty progression/recruiting issues will have to be issued via patch.

According to the EA Blog concerning the upcoming updates, the tuner will be able to address the progression and recruiting issues.

If it works like EAS' NHL series, once the game loads, you'll be notified that a new tuner set is available for download and be told which button to press to download it. You will be able to ignore this notification easily or easily miss it, too (again, if it's like NHL). You then have the option to download it or not.

That's the first big difference between a tuner set and a patch: the patch notification is before the game even loads. Not downloading a patch also has the potential to restrict certain features of the game, most notably those that are online features.

Once a tuner set is downloaded, it is saved like an ordinary save from within the game. Something I'm NOT noticing with NCAA is that you can't simply scroll through the different tuner versions available as you could in NHL. It would seem to load a tuner set, you have to "manually" load it (though I suspect a preferred tuner version would be saved with one's profile save so that when one's profile is loaded, the preferred tuner set is automatically loaded, much like a roster file).

And this is the second big difference between a patch and a tuner file. A patch is saved differently than a tuner file and basically creates a different version of the game. The patch is ALWAYS loaded as the game loads. A tuner set can be loaded as preferred; for instance, if player A likes tuner set 1.1 while player B likes tuner set 1.2, they each can load their preferred tuner set while they would both be playing game version 1.02 (or whatever the patched version of the game is). A note, though, I don't know if two players must be using the same tuner set to play each other online; I never played NHL online, so I can't make a comparison there.

Now, I could be off here, but that's how things worked in NHL.

The advantage from EA's point of view is that with a tuner set, they can make minor tweaks to different protocols without having to go through the entire patch process with Sony and Microsoft. It's cost effective over a patch, releases sooner than a patch would, and makes for a happier gaming community.
