Re: Anyone else have a 2 way starter?

I got a little type happy with this one. Just couldn't stop, my bad..

I'm in my 4th year dynasty season (2013) with Oklahoma, I have 5 two way players. I recruited 2 ATH in my 2011 class and 2 ATH in my 2012 class, might have two more in my 2013 class. 1 is a QB that I just played at the OLB position just to see if I could get his ratings up

2010 14-0/2011 14-0/2012 14-0
national champs 3 years running. playing on Heisman, 8 minute quarters

2012
avg pts. 59-13, allowed 17 offensive td's 14 pass/3 rush
avg yds off. 581- 389 pass/192 rush
avg yds def. 320 - 257 pass/53 rush - my pass D was good just all the damn pass teams in the Big 12. Teams like Tech, Mizzou, Texas and A&M throw the ball probably 40-50 times each game against me

I play a spread offense/hybrid 3-4.
My 2013 class has 5-5 Stars and 10-4 Stars recruits coming in. I'm stack for the future.

2012 Heisman winner and Biletnikoff Award winner
Nathaniel Sims (Jr) 6'4/235 - WR/SS/hybrid LB - 94 WR/86 FS(93 Speed)
2011 4 Star ATH
Great hands, has 3 drops in 2 years. good coverage skills, doesn't miss tackles, plays close to the line in my hybrid 3-4.
2012 stats:
104 rec/1575 yds/15.1 avg/25 td - 112.5 avg/g - 15 car/235/15.6 avg/5 td
73 tackles/15 tfl, 6 sacks/8 int/8 FF/5 FR /4 def td/ 18 pass brup

2011, 2012 Mackey award winner
Trevor Moore (Jr) 6'6/248 - TE/LB/hybrid DE - 85 TE/93 LB (87 speed)
2011 4 Star ATH
Great blocker with good hands, big hitter makes 99.9% of his tackles(I think he has missed 5 tackles in two years, seriously)
and is good in coverage
Starter his Fr and Soph seasons at TE and LB
2012 stats:
94 rec/1160 yds/12.3 avg/17 td - 82.8 avg/g
135 tackles/26 tfl, 12 sacks, 3 int/9 ff/5 fr/2 def td/ 8 brup

2012 Davey O'Brien, Maxwell & Walter Camp winner, 2012 Heisman runner up
Trevor Williams (Rs Soph) 6'2/221 - QB/OLB - 90 QB/71 OLB (80 speed)
2011 4 Star QB
As a Fr Frosh Williams lit defensives up throwing for almost 5,000 yds.. With a rocket arm and pin point accuracy, is a good scrambler for a pocket passer. Played a little at the OLB position. Good tackle skills and is has average zone coverage.
2012 stats:
375 comp/506 att/9 int - 74 pct/4789 yds/55 td - 342.1 yds/g
79 car/401 yds/5.1 avg/ 8 td
25 tackles/4 tfl/2 sacks - 1 FF/1 int

2012 Outland winner
Terrence Stewart (Soph) 6-5/336 - LT/DT - 88 LT/ 82 DT (64 speed)
2012 5 Star ATH
This guy is a road grader on both sides, has only gave up 3 sacks in two years. Two year starter. Has been the key to my D in stopping the run and pressuring the QB. doesn't put up the big tackle numbers but really blows up plays and delivers big hits on ever play.
2012 stats:
48 tackles/26 tfl, 10 sacks/16 ff/6 fr, 19 pancakes, 1 sack allowed(should of been more like 30+ pancakes, I saw atleast 3-4 a game)

2012 Doak Walker and 2012 Returner of the year
Kerry Warrick (Soph) 5-10/205 - RB/CB - 92 RB/ 81 CB (96speed)
2012 4 Star ATH
Warrick is my all everything. Has great speed with good hands to catch the ball out of the back field. Good cover skills not the best cover CB but his speed makes up for it, was never beaten deep. Starter at RB and was the #3 CB last year, mostly used in nickel back formations.
2012 stats:
184 car/1321/7.1 avg/23 td - 94 avg/g - 40 rec/460 yds/11.5 avg/7 td
11 KR/391 yds/35.5 avg/ 3 td - 41 PR/834 yds/20.3 avg/2 td

Marcus Jones (Fr) 6'1/195 - CB/RB/WR/PR/KR - 87CB/80 RB/78 WR (98 speed)
2013 5 Star ATH
Jones will be a big impact as a Fr coming in this year. The next Devin Hester/Charles Woodson. Expected to play ever where on the field. good pass coverage ratings 85+.. Will play in the nickel & dime formations

Josh Griffin (Fr) 6'2/237 - LB/DE/TE/WR - 86 LB/72 DE/80 TE/73 WR(82 Speed)
2013 5 Star ATH
Griffin is a dual threat on both sides of the field. good hands, quick, average blocking ability with good tackling skills.. Likely to play mostly DE and be the 2nd or 3rd string TE.

The only problem with playing two way players is that they are never looked at for awards at the other positions they play.. Trevor Moore was by far the best LB in 2012. I looked at the other LB's that was in the top 5 for the best linebacker award. Moore crush them with his stats..

Re: Anyone else have a 2 way starter?

In my online dynasty with Wyoming, I use CB Marcell Gipson 97 speed 97 Acc in certain formations on offense. I dont consider it cheese, as he may touch the ball 3 to 4 times a game maximum. I primarily use him running reverses, or on a occasional screen. The guy is awesome, but first off, I don't want to get him hurt, and secondly he tends to be careless handling the ball. More of a situational player on offense.

I've noticed that my 2 way starter doesn't get tired faster than any other player on my team, which may be unrealistic, but it's convenient

Re: Anyone else have a 2 way starter?

In the 5th year of my Teambuilder OD I have a Senior QB named Phillip Mitchell who has started all 4 years since I recruited him during the first year. This past offseason I lost my Punter and Kicker so I was screwed I thought. But setting my depth chart in the preseason I noticed that Mitchell was my best rated kicker and punter. Turns out he has high 70's in both kicking stats so he has turned into a modern day George Blanda for me. So now my All American QB plays QB/K/P and does kickoffs as well.
