Re: Will you buy NCAA 12 without the new conference alignments?

With the steadily changing of the college conference landscape, a full conference customization should be included. Like others have said, swapping teams just isn't enough now. There is a possibility of having 16-team conferences here in the near future and having that ability to create them, not just on dynasty start-up but in-dynasty as well (like not every dynasty year but every three to five years and maybe allow for one major shift every decade).

With full conference customization, there's a lot to work out though. How would it be implemented?? Would the custom conference be designed a la teambuilder or would it be in-game?? How would the teams be divided (as in how would each team be pulled to a conference - like the current style or like Madden's fantasy roster in create a team)?? That also brings to adding FCS schools. That could be an added feature as well if a program struggles for a while they could drop to FCS and an FCS powerhouse can move up as well. That allows for an entirely different dynasty experience if an imported teambuilder school can start in FCS and work their way into FBS and then up the FBS food chain. Another factor coming from this is playoff potential. There can be an option to adopt a playoff system that is set or maybe as the landscape changes can expand from four to eight to sixteen teams.

In all, there's a lot EA can do to enhance the dynasty mode with custom conferences and that, if implemented well, will be a great game (as long as the gameplay is just as great).

I predict EA will add the new conference changes for next year, but instead of doing it for the 2012 season, they will have a new, in-depth, custom-conference feature to tweak everything to our liking.

At least, that's what I see them doing.

It'd be nice if it had the new conferences or allowed customization of conferences, but honestly, I'm going to buy it no matter what.

I think they'll put the changes that will really take place next year (Nebraska and Colorado out of Big XII, etc.) but not the 2012 changes.
Anyway, if it is as fun for me as the 11, I'll buy it no matter what.

At least your honest about. Let's face it, most people who say "I'm not buying it unless" are kidding themselves. At the very least we'll get Colorado and Utah to the Pac 12, Nebraska to the Big 10, Boise St. to the MWC, and BYU to Independent. The 2012 changes I don't think will happen, and here's why: They'd have to add two whole new programs (UTSA and Texas State) to get the WAC to 8 teams in 2012, with Nevada and Fresno State moving to the MWC. That means in year 2 of dynasty, the logic for ranking, scheduling, recruiting, etc. would be changed - they could change all that logic, for sure, but to do it starting in year two of dynasty just doesn't seem like a good idea - I could see a lot of problems coming out of that. Secondly, the teams themselves - we don't know what UTSA's uniforms will look like - we've seen their helmets (though those can change), and their stadium is already in the game (The Alamo Dome). But the rest would all be a guess. I just don't see them doing that.

Fully customizable conferences would be great, but I don't see you ever being able to alter the total number FBS schools, which is what you'd have to do to make the 2012 conference alignments.

To me nothing is real, it's a freaking video game lol

Having customizable conference size would be great (so that when adding in teambuilder teams you don't have to remove current teans), but honestly that is the least of my worries... I care more about what is happening with my own team and the things associated (customizable options in teambuilder, gameplay issues, more dynasty options, etc...)

Re: Will you buy NCAA 12 without the new conference alignments?

I won't be buying NCAA 12, but not b/c of that. 2 reasons, really:

1) I need playoffs, not just in real life, but in my games as well. Period. Bowls are stupid and unsatisfying.

2) I've got OCD when it comes to updated rosters/depth charts, and I'm incessantly editing all 120 teams. It wears me out, yet I can't make myself stop. Since I really don't have time for this, I'm making the switch to Madden, where it doesn't matter after 1 season anyway.
