Suggestion for enhancing the recruiting pool.

In the real world of college football recruiting there are thousands of recruits who are not rated by the recuiting services because recruiting executives and scouts haven't seen their tapes or haven't attended their games. College coaching staffs discover these guys up all the time and offer the best of them. Once offered, recruiting services put these kids on their radar screens and may or may not give them a rating, depending upon how much info they acquire.

I suggest that EA add a few hundred or more unrated recuits to its pool. Doing so adds to the data base, allows the treasure hunters among us to dig deep for better players and should add to the quality of the gaming experience for those who enjoy recruiting. Once an unrated player is offered, EA could automatically assign the player a star rating based upon attributes.

Sorry if this has been previously suggested.

This could be used with coaching as well. Like you have a recruiter or a scout who can help you discover ratings for these unrated recruits. Bot a bad idea.

Re: Suggestion for enhancing the recruiting pool.

I say take things up a notch and have recruit ratings based on your systems and position preferences as with players overalls.

So maybe in a 4-3 defense for a coach who wants run stopping OLBs that prized recruit of yours is unranked and comes in with a 40 OVR but in your 3-4 as a pass rusher he's a 4 star recruit and comes in in the 70-80s or so.

That would make the six or so 6 star schools signing 3 top rated QBs every year tolerable, because that 3 star QB w/ 99 THA and 50 THP can prosper in my pass happy west coast offense

Re: Suggestion for enhancing the recruiting pool.

Recruiting ratings should be entirely independent (and scaled back) from NCAA roster ratings. All we care about is how fast he is, how strong he is, how far he can throw, how well he can catch and how hard he hits. From there we (including CPU teams) can determine if he should stay at his HS position or moved to another position without his OVR tanking to 40.

This is all an overly simplified example of how it should work but bottomline players in game should not be married to their HS positions; this is how teams end up with 15 QBs.
