I found a cheesy trick for playing D on Heisman

For whatever reason, this works. I was at my wits end when I discovered this. Play man cover-1. Do whatever formation is appropriate for # of wideouts (3-4/4-3 for 2 WR, nickel for 3, dime for 4).

Hot route the hook zone MLB and deep zone safety to both blitz. Tap Y/triangle + UP to get your DBs to take a few steps back. Key pass (left stick up presnap).

Manually control the player who is guarding the RB, and blitz. It stops the run, and also for some reason, the DBs play much smarter. They will either give up a short gain and tackle, or make a play on the ball for a batdown or pick.

I was getting destroyed before this. Fresno State dynasty with default sliders. First year. Here was my pass D up to that point:

Cincinnati 311 yards, 2 TD,1 INT (won 30-24)
Utah State 411 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT (won 41-30)
Ole Miss 185 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT (won 30-21)
BYU 451 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT (won 34-31)
Hawaii 451yards, 3 TD, 2 INT (won 30-28)
New Mexico State 634 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT (lost 49-42)
San Jose State 542 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT (won 44-41)
Louisana Tech 880 yards, 9 TD, 1 INT (won 80-77)

So after LA Tech put half a season's pass yardage on me in one game, I was willing to try anything. At the end of that game, I did this trick and had some success, so I also did it in my next 2 games:

Nevada 259 yards, 1 TD, 4 INT (won 38-10)
Boise State 164 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT (won 24-14)

I also recorded the Boise game. I may edit a few plays and upload to show.

Im not sure this is cheese exactly. Seems a little complex, and are you sure you didn't just start playing better D?

LA Tech got 880 yards on you! What??

If you're keying the pass, it makes sense that your DBs play smarter. I tend to key the pass a LOT right now in my online dynasty because my CBs are pretty weak, while my D line is the strongest part of my team.

To me it's cheesy in the sense that I run the exact same play every time, only adjusted for # of WRs.

And yes, 880. Almost 2000 yards of combined offense in one game. That is the merriment and wonder of Heisman. Before I started keying pass every down, their WRs would literally get 10-15 yards of separation on routes. So wide open plus minimum of 2 broken tackles equals a lot of 3-play touchdown drives for the CPU.

True. I will try keying pass without dropping the DBs deep and see what happens.

I have to ask. Is playing the cpu like that fun for you? I would hve been in the sliders forum after that one game alone.
