Re: Promises to Recruits

I use *Solid playing time 1st year* and *No Redshirt 1st year*....Considering these two go hand-in-hand for me, that's what i go with

Re: Promises to Recruits

I usually promise them whatever because it doesn't matter, I usually back it up.

But this year I've been playing with my roommates, switching off quarters or possessions, and we've been losing some games.

It's really screwed my coaching prestige or whatever it is. So no more promises for us.

Curious as to what constitutes "good national exposure" as well.

Also, do these all only count in the first year on campus???

I feel like "good national exposure" is just tv exposure, but its so vague. I have done it about 5-6 times so far and I haven't failed with it once, so thats what I am guessing it is.

Re: Promises to Recruits

Early on, with a lower-teir team, solid playing time and no redshirt are essentially gimmies. Also, have gotten a nice boost that my only rival to Akron (Kent State) is also terrible, and I handle them with relative ease every year, so I promise the 'winning record vs. rivals first year on campus' option, too.

Whatever gets them to come to Akron...

No red shirt is the easiest one to offer.

Re: Promises to Recruits

Do the Top 10 promises mean that you have to be ranked Top 10 some time during that season or at the end of the season?
