the NFL has Madden. we should honor the man, and go back to the beginning of this franchise and give this game it's original name. Lets be honest, when you hear the name "MADDEN", you don't think of him being a coach, or a broadcast personality. He is NFL gaming. Bill has be gone for some time, but lets get back to where it all began. Maybe that way, if you attach a legend to this game, they might think twice about selling us a piece of unfinished ****

No they wouldn't. Plus it sounds okay to say "I'm gonna go play some Madden" but "I'm gonna go play some Walsh" sounds weird lol.

Doesnt sound weird if you grew up playing Bill Walsh. Guess we are showing our age.

Honestly it probably wouldn't make sense to bring Walsh out of the woodwork out of nowhere. Honestly I doubt it changes, if they had used Walsh as a title recently I could understand but it's been well over a decade since that title had been used so it's done. If anything they would have to use someone remotely relevant in the collegiate landscape today.

Not to mention I heard they were planning on dropping the Madden tag from the NFL game? (Not certified and not 100% sure so don't freak out.)

They haven't had a Bill Walsh title in about 18 years, and he's essentially irrelevant to 99% of the gaming community. He won't be making a return.

This thread is just an excuse to get in another complaint about the game, but I'll pretend for a minute that it's a legitimate suggestion. As someone who started out with these games:





I, of course, remember all the names and all the games. I can't think of one "lets go back to" thread that was actually a good idea, IMO. It is also my opinion that there seems to be a direct correlation between nostalgia for old games and decreased enjoyment of the new games. It is what it is.

I really would think Walsh would not be in NCAA's best interest.

When I think of Walsh now, I think of NFL, the 49er dynasty and legacy, not Stanford.
