Dammit.
Yes for the guys who run no-huddle the game is broke, agreed. It sucks major that they broke no huddle... but at this moment in time I am enjoying the game.

Re: NCAA Patch #2 Quick Impressions & 'Guide'

Played last night with the patch and had a very good game.

Today, post tuner, it felt like the passing was very, very touchy. So much so I didn't try to lead at all b/c if I leaned on the controller to lead manually at all the throw would go WAY wide - like out of bounds. This was the biggest eye-opener for me. Going to have to get used to this if it is anything more than a one-off event.

Haven't seen any 'improvement' in the HB screens. OL still let the D through without any chip and the DT destroyed my QB b/c of the slow rollback, or I'd run backwards to get the pass off and hit my HB in the face with the pass. So that seems exactly the same as before.

Loving the open editing from the patch.

Same here.

Sorry for those who run up temp, change your gameplans!

QBs accuracy is GREATLY affected by hot/cold streaks. If your QB was cold (blueish icon under him when selected), then it's very hard to throw precise lead passes with him. Either sit him for a few plays or call short passes (screens, slants, drags) that he can hit easily to get his confidence back up.

As far as HB screens, they're not entirely realistic, but they're solid when used properly. I'd suggest picking your favorite formation HB screen in practice mode and setting the D up with an aggressive blitz. Get a feel for the timing, movement of the QB, and speed of the pass. Just try to complete the pass to the HB and get him outside. Once you can consistantly do that against an aggressive blitz, you'll feel like you have FOREVER against a standard 4 man rush. After you get the timing of the pass down, work on waiting for blocks and choosing lanes with the HB.

I *love* running a screen game. It's so much fun when you do it correctly.

EDIT: If you're having serious problems with DTs blowing you up during screen plays and can't get the timing down, try to implement a two back shotgun set in your playbook. I started using the Shotgun formation with a HB and FB (forget what it's called) when I recruited a SPARQ #1 overall athlete that turned out to project as a fullback. I tried to get him involved in the offense using that formation, and I found that hot routing him to "block" on screen plays neutralizes the first DL through and gives you more time. The same effect can be achieved by motioning a TE hot routed to block into the backfield or near the center of the line pre-snap.

Sadly that's not an option, I roll almost exclusively with Houston. In the real world my Coogs run a hurry up, no huddle almost exclusively (last week vs UCLA, UH ran 71 plays in 25:59 of possession; avg time between snaps = 22 secs).

Yes, I know--we're cheesers.

Well if you can pick your play in 1-3 seconds than you can still hike the ball with 20+ on the clock. Therefore keeping the ~20-25 seconds between snaps.
