Why the Infinity Engine is NOT in NCAA

Since a lot of people are asking "why", I figured I'd start this thread so I could stop replying to each post individually.

Quote:
The elephant in the room is NCAA Football, which will get real-time physics next year, Weber said. It ships seven weeks before Madden does, and when the football group decided to go for it and bring physics to this year's game—Weber said he came into this year's game unsure if they would—it was too late to properly integrate with NCAA.

Really disappointing news. I've strayed away from saying I won't be getting it, but this really did it for me. Kudos to the Madden team for taking a risk, you may have earned a customer.

I'm no expert or insider but I would say it is a few different things: the need to differentiate NCAA and madden, time constraints, or budgetary constraints. New features used to always go to madden first so this is not a huge shock.

The question remains - if we believe the EA guys when they say "predetermined outcomes are a thing of the past," should we thus treat NCAA 13 as history, to be consigned to the dust pile containing other outdated relics?

Yes, methinks.

Take EA's advice: don't bother with NCAA 2013.

Re: Why the Infinity Engine is NOT in NCAA

Come next year, we will get the reason why Madden 14's feature did not make it into NCAA 14. Same story every year. As usual, NCAA is 2 years behind Madden.

Re: Why the Infinity Engine is NOT in NCAA

I have never understood why they release this game so early every year. Maybe to separate it from madden.

I wouldn't have a problem at all if this game was released around sept 1st since that is when college football is starting up. I bet they could use the extra development time.
