Why don't EA update the records?

Why for last 8 or so years the record books are never updated? Passing records are always the same in the game but every year single game records get broken.

Re: Why don't EA update the records?

Im not even sure if a lot of the single game records are correct anyway. Like the longest completion record, I dont think it's correct

This is actually a great question. The career records are are right, but the single game records aren't.

Why does EA not update the records?*

This is a really good question. Another question, does the game update simulated broken records yet, or only the ones set during games I play?

To be fair, the best you'll ever be able to do is tie the record for longest pass, longest reception, and longest run (99 yards). They might as well put some dummy numbers in there so that you can experience some degree of satisfaction for pulling off a 90+ yard feat.

Is that not what achievements and trophies are for?

They do this so you can actually break records. If they didn't put dumbed down numbers in, you'd only be able to tie things like longest pass.

If I throw a 91 yard TD pass, I want to see it on a records page so I know who did it and when. Then when I throw a 94 yard TD pass, I get the satisfaction of breaking my own record.
