Some now (the free ones probably), some will come later. There will be multiple patches like this I'm thinking. Just my theory.

My guess, and maybe someone knows better, is that they need everyone to have access to the code for online play, so you don't have a mess when someone with the jersey plays someone who doesn't have the code on their system. It's the point the Bama poster made in the other thread. It's just my educated guess, I don't know for sure.

If you want the jerseys for yourself, you either buy or redeem the free ones in the store, and it grants you access. Other games work like this. In the MMO DC Universe Online for the PS3, when you buy a DLC pack, you only buy access to the new content. The content itself is patched into your system prior to the DLC release, and I'm sure it's done for similar reasons to why EA might be doing it (if this is indeed what they are doing).

It would be similar to games like Street Fighter V (and its 40 different versions). When Capcom releases an outfit pack (or 100 of them), if you don't want to buy it, you don't have to. But if you want to fight against people that have downloaded it, you download a free version that allows the game to see the outfit, but you yourself cannot select it. Since EA is patching in new default unis free of charge PLUS premium unis, they probably figured to just put ALL of the uniforms onto the system instead of making optional downloads which would mess up match-making and online dynasties.

I undersrand the business sense in trying to create more buzz for a product that was released months ago, and I also can appreciate that we get notices of impending changes... But I would think that if consumers are going I be charged extra for in game services it's really not to much to ask for a target date, an in order to not paint themselves into a corner they could always end their notices with the cue card rhetoric of "subject to change"

Oh please. I don't always defend EA, and originally I was down on them for being coy about this (the discussion today has made me realize the hoops they probably have gone through to implement this), but you can't possibly think that slapping "subject to change" will placate the Internet masses if they missed a specific target date.

I got the TOS last night as well around 7:30 EST when I fired up the game. No patch/tuner, though. Have not played it yet today.
