Can I take a new head coaching job while still under contract?

I'm in year 4 of my dynasty with Ole Miss (and year two of a three year contract extension I signed) but I think I want to leave. I've been eyeing a couple of big time programs that have fallen on hard times and at the moment, I'm dead set on FSU. Jimbo Fisher's job security has plummeted and I have a feeling he'll be gone after the season. I really want to get the FSU job because they have a freshman QB they beat me out for who, ratings wise, basically seems like a Michael Vick clone. I have built Ole Miss to a BCS level program and I do feel like if I were free to take a job, I could get the FSU one. Is there an option to resign from Ole Miss and take another job, or am I stuck there until my contract ends?

I realize I could turn the game on and check, but I'm at work all day and this has been on my mind all day!

You can be a part of the carousel after every season. Doesn't mean you're going to get a job you're eyeing however.

Exactly, i OC'd Louisville for 4 years, took them to 2 national championships and figured i would be a shoe in for the vacant Nebraska HC postion. Nebraska instead offered me the OC job

I ended up being HC for Boise State after they went win less

Yes you are able to take another job every season end. I dont think you can quit your job mid-season anymore tho.

No you cannot. That's a big part of the problem. If you are under contract as a head coach, you will not get another offer to be a head coach (at least at your bigger programs). You can get all kinds of coordinator offers, but no HC jobs. It's kind of ridiculous.

Yes you can. I finished the first season of an offline dynasty and was the OC for North Texas, went 12-1 and was offered a the HC job at UCLA.

The key is to save right before the offseason starts, run through the carousel and see what your best offer is, start the dynasty over and accept the best job when it is offered to you again.

Thanks for the input guys. I finished my season last night and got to the coaching carousel and FSU kept Jimbo Fisher despite his freaking 30 PERCENT job security rating!!
