I am not trying to start anything with you, but why shouldn't they answer things like this? We could go into great detail about why they don't but the simple answer is they want to sell their game. They tell us its not in there and we won't give it a try.

Why not give us straight answers so we can make the decision before buying the game? They did their gameplay playbook. So anything that is gameplay related should be answered....I understand but I don't. People are skeptical, so then tell them what they want to know instead of dancing around the questions or ignoring them...Thank you.

The answer is marketing. They are still 3 months away from release. Going by some other articles posted by people who have had hands on time with the game, line play and some defensive changes have been made but nothing directly from EA...yet.

I also agree that they should answer most (if not all) of the questions posed in this thread. But IMO there's no need to do it all on day one.

Dude, its day 1!!! How can you expect them to answer all those questions on the first day of info? There are plenty of reason to not like the game, or the developers, but this isn't one.

Ordinarily I'd agree. But like someone said, it's 3 months from release. That is very quick. It's day one to us - but isn't to them. They should answer those questions regardless.

Most of all though - they should have invited Skillz to the HQ to oversee the gameplay designs.

I'm skeptical even more - especially after seeing the absent minded release with the DB glitch - and never a fix; never a word. Gamechangers/Mods and EA guys alike - none of them addressed it; yet practically everyone on OS knows about it. It's hard to think their status quo doesn't need some rattling once in a while so us skeptics can start falling back in love with the series now, rather than later.

So just to be clear. You think they should have wrote a blog, or done a video yesterday answering all those questions that Skillz asked in the first post?

Its marketing man. You don't blow your load on day one. You have to space it out. I'm not trying to be a dick here but do you not know how this stuff works? No company will release all the info, or do an in depth blow by blow of every single gameplay enhancement the first day that info is released about the game.

It doesn't matter if we are jaded or not. They aren't going to break marketing plans to make OS members happy.

How does player fatigue work with different quarter minute settings? If we don't have accelerated clock I imagine most folks play 5-7 minute quarter games.

For those of us who play real 15 minute quarters how does the player fatigue feature work?

You are being a dick, PV. Usually you are pretty cool - just relax and enjoy the conversation, man.

Yes, their marketing is VERY good. I never said anything like that. I just said they should address the issues that were wrong with last year - not introduce features. Big difference there; features versus issues. Features seem, to me, are cover ups. I know it's marketing - I get that. But there were a lot of glaring issues last year.

With that said, I understand some of these new features are going to help fix the issues. So what they can say, "since the DB glitch was such an issue last year - we created a new feature that allows your DB and LBs to not over-run the play" or "Since you could barely return a punt last year - we focused heavily on Special Teams; this is where the new Infinity Engine will come into play."

Instead, with features, we are left to wonder if said 20-30 issues are going to be fixed.

I don't think there's any harm in asking for that info now; because I'm still playing 13 - with many, many house rules. (and player editing thanks to Skillz) - and obviously there a lot of guys that feel the same way. And I do think EA reads these boards quite a lot - look at the Tiger Woods forums, reps/devs from EA openly joined OS and gave us information early on and answered "yes" or "no" to some of the concerns.

But you're right, it is DAY 1 of marketing hype time. Maybe I don't want to give into it - and maybe I'm too damn tired of accepting it and the fact that true gamechangers are being overlooked because we'll look bad for asking the "issues" questions instead of the "new features".
