Re: The real National Champ decided here

The games are played at current bowl sites so they can still make their money?

I've got bad news for ya on that one. Bowls make a huge chunk of their money from ticket sales. Fans will not travel to 4 different games in 4 parts of the country for 4 consecutive weeks. It's just not plausible.

College football has the most compelling regular season in all of sports because 1 loss could eliminate you. Putting in a 4 loss team like Florida (or even worse North Texas, etc) is a joke.

An 8 team playoff with the first round played at the sites of the higer-seeded teams is plausible.

A 4 team playoff is the only answer we're likely to ever see put into effect.

Never thought of that one, but I agree. I'd be perfectly fine with a 4-teams playoff, and I've said it before. 16 is too many, even 8 is stretching it.

Maybe you guys can answer this question. Why should any team other than USC, OU, or LSU... maybe Michigan, ever deserve a shot at the title? I mean, look at the playoff system here. Why should North Texas get in? Florida State? Tennessee? Etc. All they have done this year is prove that they should not be crowned champion, yet they are in a playoff to get a championship.

I know you all love the playoff system, but 16 teams is a joke.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. Its not about what teams shouldnt get a chance its about the teams that should get a chance.

I, for one am sick of saying that changes need to be made to the system, so it only makes sense to set up a system to make sure that every team that deserves a chance at a title, gets a chance at the title. Setting up a 4 team playoff or even an 8 team playoff could still potentially leave out a team like an undefeated TCU.

I dont know why people are so worried about the teams that dont deserve a chance at the title. Chances are, if they are a team that shouldnt be in the playoff, they wont be there for long anyway.
