I figured out the problem with defense.

I got it fellas.
Just finished some more testing and found out that the only way you can get realistic results is if you play with defense set to freshman.
Now I know that it's sounds crazy be hear me out.
See on freshman rating matter a whole lot.
I tested the comeback and corner route with all four difficulties.
And the only difference I see and get is when defense is set to freshman.
Playing with Bama on d and penn st on offense.
On the left side I have a QB playing cb, on the right side I have the starting cb.
Now the problem with the other difficulties is that no matter what the QB and cornerback play same unless the wr is doing a go route in which the QB just doesn't have the speed to stay with the wr.
On heisman they both get faked out when the wr makes his cut.
Now on freshman only the QB gets faked out because he doesn't have the skills to play cb.
With it being on freshman it eliminates those bad animations for good players and keep them for the least skill ones.
I hope I am making sense please ask questions if u have any.

Before everyone starts jumping on this guy he speaks the truth. Freshman difficulty is the only one in which all animations are utilized. In harder difficulties, less animations are utilized. GMSS made a good post about this i believe. However, even with the animations, the defense plays so terribly that even though you'll see stuff like this, it won't matter since you can plow through the defense anyway. IDK why EA doesn't just let any difficulty have any animation but who knows.

That's ridiculous. Having to play on freshman for realistic coverage? I'll give it a try though. Have you tested freshman sliders?

I would assume just crank CPU to 100 and User to 0 and take a crack at it.

No just defense then lower your defense sliders to adjust to make the game harder.
Setting it to freshman just eliminate bad animations for good players.
You will see that good Cb will guard corner and comeback route like they suppose to and bad cb won't.

Idk about this...I kill it on Varsity and hold them to 0 points usually. On All-American I sometimes only give up a few if not any points. I don't know why people have such a hard time on defense.

I do give up yards sometimes, but can hold them as they get closer to the endzone.

Are you maybe Alabama? You know, that 99 overall defense?
