Are these formations any different than their "Normal" or "Twins" counterparts? I know there are other "H Pro" sets as well.

For example, is there a difference between I: H-Pro and I: Normal? This is what I'm getting at?

If so, what is it and what does the "H" terminology mean?

H likely refers to 'h-back' which is essentially a FB/TE hybrid. Not too many teams use an H-back anymore, however. It usually needs to be a player that is good at everything; Blocking, Receiving, Rushing occasionally.

Well I was wrong on the h-back thing. The only difference that I can see is that the receivers are tighter in "H" formations.

I'm pretty sure the 'H' refers to there being an H-back in the formation. You'd notice this if what would be the traditional FB is in a "2-point stance" instead of a 3-point.

Basically, the only difference is that it makes that back more of a receiving threat, while still providing the blocking ability.

Im sure you have the option to sub a TE in place of the FB in H-Back formations. You really wouldn't need to though, unless your default FB isn't a receiving threat. Also, there are many Shotgun formations that use an H-back, even if it isn't notified. It'll just be a FB/TE in a 2-point stance lined up close to the LOS. (Check Oregon's PB, for example)

It's really good to use if you have a skilled FB with hands, or two really good TEs, and you want to get the on the field as much as possible.

Aside from the previously noted different stances for the fullback,
the only other real difference is that the two receivers are flip flopped:

In I-Form Normal, a teams number one receiver is lined up in a slot
on the strong side (TE side).

In I-Form H Pro, a teams number one receiver is line up on the weak side.

The actual plays in H Pro are virtually the same as those in Normal.
I never use H Pro because the I-Form Normal has plays the H Pro doesn't.
