Is it better to wait for the scraps?

If you are starting with a small one star school is it better to wait to fill up your board after week one when you can see who is not getting recruited? Or, start in the preseason and go after the lower rated guys you have a shot at getting?

More of the latter with a little of the former. You want to try and target players who have you in their top three (if any). The CPU has a knack for avoiding players who are colossal busts so if you recruit just scraps you're going to get a lot of those, they're best suited for filling out your roster.

I have found a few gems that went unnoticed but CPU teams come back later in the year and recruit them hard, likely because they signed other players and have points to spend elsewhere.

When u are first starting off with like 10-25 percent scouting efficiency it's rough.. U kinda just gotta guess.. Wasting points in season to scout is not good when u gotta fire hard for the players u want.

I find that sometimes I'm recruiting garbage because my scouting is so poor. How many points do you need to earn before your scouting gets better?
