I continue to have a tendency to over pursue the ballcarrier when trying to make a tackle. In the past I could hold down the X button on the PS3 and the player I was controlling would be assisted by the CPU to correctly pursue the ball carrier. Am I missing something or was that taken out of this version of the game?

I believe it's still in the game, but it doesn't work.

Don't hold the "sprint" button. Once you have a free run at the ball carrier or QB making a read let off the "sprint" button and your controlled player will make a play. You want have to hit the "X" button.
