Re: XBox dilemma

I bought a box last year just NCAA 2004 because the 2003 version froze so much on my ps2 I couldnt stand it anymore. Id say go for the box, faster loading, better graphics, hard drive, etc. The only benefit imo that the ps2 has in the controller, but you'll get used to the s controller. Buying the box and selling my ps2 was the best decision I ever made.

Re: XBox dilemma

For anyone who wants to get an Xbox, but can't part with their PS2 controller. There are adapters available on Ebay that allow you to play with your PS2 controller on an Xbox. Total package for some people...

The buttons for NCAA won't match up properly which would prob lead to more confusion. Certain buttons won't be pressure sensitive either. I also don't believe this option will work for xbl.

I can't say the adaptor would work with NCAA, but I know for a fact it works on Xbox Live for Capcom vs SNK 2, because I play that with a PS1 controller.

To the original poster: Get the box, man. NCAA games for the PS2 are known for having particularly harsh save/load times. Remember last year how long it took to save your dynasty? I do, because I didn't have an Xbox then. This is one game that NEEDS a hard drive. And you can pretty much bet that slowdown will be gone by release--if it's not I'll be shocked.

You can change the controller setup so that both the triggers are jukes. That's what I do

That's cool. That might help sway me to the box.

I own both versions. The game was made for a ps2 controller yet its game is not too bad on the s-controller.

Other than that the graphics are better on the box of course and then the HD issue. The 2004 version on the box has a few audio problems with bands and I have seen some things flying around my screen(down markers ect). Other than that, the games are the same.

I am 50/50 right now on which version to get.

I'm 50/50 also. I keep hearing how the S-video cable for PS2 makes games look entirely different. I might have to pick one up.

Yea, I have a PS2 with a flat screen tv and the s-video cable. It makes the graphics looks 10x better than when u play on a normal tv w/ normal hookups. I remember when I use to come from campus to go home and then play the ps2 on my bro's tv w/ the normal hookups . It lookes like two different games. Plus the PS2 has a harddrive now, and I dont know if your're into online play, but this is only Xbox's first year online with EA Sports, so it might or might not be as smooth as it is with PS2 (which has been on for years and has a larger amount of people online) and the ps2 controller is just perfect for sports games(which is all i play), so PS2 all the way for me. Just my 2 cents

or you could learn to play with the s-controller. The PS2 controller's user-friendlyness is way overrated.

I think people mean work on XBL with voice chat...nowhere on a PS2 controller to put the communicator plugin.

I'm getting it for Xbox, had PS2 last year, and I just don't play PS2 online as much as Xbox Live, I don't know why. Plus I like not having to worry about memory cards
