I think having to move from outside the top 25 in the polls, this was about as high as they could get. We will see in season four, since they are starting out at #20.

After year #5 I will give an update on the prestige for every school and the recruiting class. This should give a good indicator on how the Power 4 compare to the smaller ones.

22 Baylor 10-3
23 North Carolina 9-4
24 Texas 9-4
25 Penn State 10-4

A few interesting things about this season (and perhaps a trend):

--Two teams, Washington and Alabama were ranked in the top four despite not being in a conference championship game.

--Washington wins the NC and isn't a conference champion. UCLA's lone loss is a 17-38 defeat to USC and the Bruins win the Pac-12 with a convincing victory over a then #10 ranked Arizona St. team.

--UCLA goes on to win the Fiesta Bowl over Missouri (12-1) at the time to finish 13-1. But end up being ranked #8 in the final poll. Now that is being robbed, especially since Washington wins the NC.

--The Big Ten had a REALLY down year.

--This season's Western Michigan looks like last year's Bowling Green.

--At this point, every year has had two non-power conference teams playing in the Big Five Bowl games. Could this be hardcoded?

--I am 0-4 in Bowl Games at Air Force. That sucks.

On to Season #5!

Re: Power 4 / 16-team Custom Conferences

I figured I would list of the top recruiting classes after year #5.

Class Rankings:

1 Alabama SEC
2 USC PAC
3 Texas B12
4 Nebraska B12
5 Ole Miss SEC
6 Clemson SEC
7 Auburn SEC
8 Florida St. SEC
9 Oregon PAC
10 Ohio St. B1G
11 Miss St. SEC
12 Arizona PAC
13 Texas A&M B12
14 Miami SEC
15 Georgia Tech SEC
16 Stanford PAC
17 Wisconsin B12
18 Georgia SEC
19 Arizona St. PAC
20 North Carolina St. SEC
21 Notre Dame (--)
22 Vanderbilt SEC
23 Iowa B12
24 UCLA PAC
25 Penn St. B1G

*Syracuse at #31 had the top signing class of the non-power conferences (Toledo #34, Army #35, Rutgers #46 were the next best)

Certainly in recruiting the Power 4 are dominating, in particular the SEC with 11 of the top 25 classes.

Notre Dame does has maintained its elite status as the lone independent.

My recruiting class at Air Force was #89.

UTEP had the worst overall recruiting class of all the conferences. Kentucky was worst Power 4 Conference at #113.
