Deegeezy\'s Recruiting Rules Project v.1.0
I dont know about you guys, but I like to have some sort of "structure" in the way that I recruit and the way EA made the game this year, its made it a bit more challenge to structure things.
Well, Ive done multiple tests and simulations to come up with fair recruiting scales and rules. I even endured 2 hours of my little brother recruting, YES 2 hours. And I thought I took long to recruit.
Well the first thing I did was created a scale for points that coorelate with actual real-life recruiting tasks. I am on a Division 1 college football coaching staff in real life so I took some real-life recruiting rules and implemented them into this game.
All prospects on this game as we all know are recruited with points with the points increasing as you further out from your state. However I have figured out that all prospects have the same number or "notches" or "clicks" that you can make with points. You can offer recruits 15 different amounts of points so I broke these 15 notches into 6 different categories.
1-3 > Recruiting Coordinator Phone Call
4-6 > Assistant Coach Phone Call
7-9 > Head Coach Phone Call
10-11 > Recruiting Coordinator Visit
12-13 > Assistant Coach Visit
14-15 > Head Coach Visit
Here are some rules in regards to this scale as well as some self-imposed rules to make things more structured.
- As it is in real life, a school representative can only visit a prospects home ONCE, so this will be a rule in my dynasty. So in other words, notches 10-15 can only be used once per prospect
- Any prospect not targeted in week one must be given a phone call the week prior to visiting
- Only in-state prospects can be visited in week 5
- Phone calls can be made to anyone at anytime but if a recruiting coordinator visited, at least he must call all weeks after that an assistant coach visited than at least he must or head coach call all weeks after that. If head coach visited, he must call all weeks after that.
- Once pitch is made on a VISIT, it can not be changed,(justification being that if a coach visits a player, it usually leaves a lasting impression with the prospect that wont be changed. You only get once shot at a first impression" but it can be changed if all you have been doing is calling the prospect
- All in-state prospects visited in week 1 must be scouted
- All border state prospects not targeted in week 1 must be scouted
- No cutting players
- My initial off-season budget will be Recruiting 80%, Training 15%, Discipline 5%
I will come up with more rules as the night goes on, but if you disagree with or have any suggestions feel free to add your input.
