Hm, turning HFA off is a very interesting idea, and it seems like it has worked for most people. I'd try it, but I don't really need to. When I do throw it, I just have to put a little touch on my passes instead of simply jamming the button, and the WR either catches it or the DB gets at it, it's rather realistic for me. But of course, I play Bo Schembechler football, where I run first, run second, run third, run again, run some more, keep running, and if my RB is tired, pass.

That's just it! It eliminates any sort of "excessive" number of drops, thus INCREASING the CPU completion %.

If you have the right combination of sliders, the CPU WILL have a great passing game... just check out the stats of the game I posted.... seems like classic FSU vs. Miami to me!

Pared . Picked up the game AGAIN last night. Using a slightly modified version of Jistic's sliders, I played 3 games using average teams. The CPU was passing between 49-52% by the end of the games. Since the NCAA average was around 55%, I can definitely live with it. Thanks again!

Well, here's the thing--I turned off HFA after my first game in my season (I've played eight), and:

#1) the cpu still can't pass at all
#2) I still get a ridiculous number of drops.

This is on AA, default sliders. So turning off HFA didn't make a single bit of difference with me. I believe that if we could turn of composure, that would make a difference.

Ed, that's great! I'm glad you've found happiness with the game again. I've only played ONE game on Heisman... but the CPU QB completion % was even HIGHER (60) in that one game... but I couldn't do anything! So I'll stick on AA until I go undefeated in a 'chise and win the Nat'l title...

I wouldn't recommend to ANYONE to try this out using default sliders. I've made it clear that I AM using sliders, and that this just HELPED everything. I've seen a noticeable improvement in the CPU game, especially when they are away, in terms of passing...

I can't remember the last game I've played on default sliders (well, actually, that's the only way I'll play Madden... but I may change that this year). I thank developers for giving us the option to tweak the game in a more realistic fashion... sometimes, realism isn't enough in games, and the average fan wants more (see High Heat's demise as an example, the most realistic sport experience I've ever had the pleasure of playing as a video game).

OK, I tried this, playing on AA with Jistic's sliders. Auburn (CPU) @ Ole Miss (Me). I won 30-7.

I noticed a real difference when I was passing! I was 18-28 for 193 yards. It was so nice to be able to throw short passes, even drags, and be reasonably certain of a completion when the WR is open. This is just bizarre, why would turning off HFA help me pass better when I'm already playing at home?

The bad thing was it didn't help the CPU. In fact, it was the worst CPU passing performance I've ever seen (which is saying something with this game). Auburn's QB was 3-21. Ouch. Just one game though, I'm going to keep trying w/o HFA. It definitely helped my passing, maybe this was an aberration.

How can the CPU, on AA with passing and catch sliders way in its favor, go 3-21 against an inferior team when HFA isn't even a factor? The game is broken. Why some of you won't admit it is beyond me.
