Why has this not been a mode yet? Imagine all the greatest Football(soccer) moments of all times and you could rewrite history. Sorta of what madden is doing but better. Example- becoming argentina's goalkeeper in the 2014 World Cup and deflect gotze's goal then play as Argentina and win the game

Well, they do have Highlights of the Week. It's not exactly the same, but it is a cool way to relive and rewrite current football history.

As for historic modes, at the very least they'd have to allow us to play as the legends in modes other than FUT on XB1. And even then it would probably end up like that old historic mode in NHL, where you play as Gretzky but every other guy on the Kings is a generic because they're not under contract with EA.

Classic teams would be awesome, but a) they would need to license all those players, and b) they would rather add those players on UT as "Legends" and cash in that way. Adding offline modes isn't on their list of priorities. Made 10 years ago they would have thought about it.

I've played a lot of UT this year and hardly anybody even uses the legends regardless of whether or not they have the coins to buy them, most of them aren't even worth the price. I think the problem is licensing all those other players since without it we'd see a barebones feature like turbojugend said that wouldn't really be worth playing. I'd love to see some big moments from recent years though. There's plenty of stuff that would be cool to replay like the Aguero goal from 2012 against QPR, CL/Europa League and World Cup games.
