Sweet spots and stat boosting

Does anyone know if these 2 problems have been addressed by EA in Fifa 11 as it would make the game less frustrating and more organic if they were.

Sweet spots in which there's a very high chance of scoring from certain positions/angle's on the pitch. This makes the gameplay repetitive as players keep trying to get the ball into the same shooting positions in and around the area frequently knowing that it will almost certainly beat the GK. This usually happens with angled finesse shots.

Obviously certain positions on the pitch should have a higher chance of scoring than other's but in Fifa due to the predictabilty of the shooting physics and GK's stance/awareness, the gameplay is stale because people know shooting from specific area's is going to get them goals so won't try shots from other distances.

Stat boosting in which the CPU doesn't play more tactically advanced/intelligent football when you increase the difficulty setting but the players become faster and stronger.

I don't know if the actual player attributes are boosted but players strength, speed, power and accuracy are noticably increased when you switch to higher difficulities such as Legendary so it's clearly more than just the CPU using better tactical play and tactical options at their disposal.

Sweet Spot - This is caused by the terrible keeper AI that the game has and alledgedly has been fixed in FIFA 11. If the keeper AI is truly fixed then they will stay on their line more and won't just fall down when someone takes a shot.

Stat Boosting - I really don't see a noticeable difference in semi pro and legendary's speed/strength/ratings. The attacking styles of the AI changes more the higher the difficulty and they play "smart football" as you increase difficulty. If you want the AI's tactical ability to increase then you might want to check out PES instead as the AI is not only smarter but actually plays different depending on the game, opponent, and what is actually happening. FIFA has Stoke going on an all out attack whether they are playing Accrington in the FA Cup or Manchester United in league play.

The sweet spot was always the diagonal shot in FIFA but because the CPU Keeper AI was so predictable you knew that if he didn't get a hand to it there was going to be a goal and vice versa.

CPU Players are definitely faster on Legendary.

In terms of scoring goals, there is no sweet spot when goalies are not charging and are moving left and right between the post.

Yes there is: The finesse shot to the far post from the top of the box.

Depends where the keeper is. The a.i. of the console versions of FIFA generally charge way too much. The charge animation is triggering the ease at which that goal can be scored. If you finesse the shot but the goalkeeper has not charged and is waiting for it, it'll be a save. That shot can be tough to beat though. It depends how fast the ball is hit, how much english curve is put on the ball. If you are controlling the goalkeeper, technically you should be able to save any theoretical shot. You could manually control the goalkeeper, position him in the far post when a guy gets near the box. If you have a formation with a sweeper, he can run to the near post just in case. There are shots that do routinely fake out the keeper, like the one you mention.

More importantly, the challenge of the game is prevent the opponent from getting a shot off from the top of the box. You have to structure your defense so he can't get off that shot. Not all players are finesse shooters, so not all players can make that shot every time. Besides it still takes skill and timing to get off a shot against tough a.i. and good defense.

There is no sweet spot to score, it is just bad keeping AI like I said in my post and simgamer also said. When the keeper comes off his line or doesn't position himself to narrow the shot selection then it makes it easier to to score. People who constantly try and get it to those spots to shoot are exploiting the bad AI, not going for sweet spots on the pitch.

I took the OP's original post to mean sweet spot as in cheesy or exploiting the game.
