So I'm scouting a player and when I select them from my shortlist it informs me that his contract expires in 6 months. What do you do? Is there a way to show interest in hopes that he doesn't sign an extension or do you just wait until it expires? I've always just paid transfer fees for my players so im not sure how the process works. Thanks

If he has less than 6 months you can select the "sign on pre-contract" and he would join you at the start of the next season. If he has less than 12 but more that 6, you just gotta hope he doesn't sign.

I never saw that option. Whuch screen do I need to go to find it? I was looking at it from the globel transfer market screen

It only works if the player in question is 23 years of age and older so keep that in mind.

Good point, forgot to add that. Also no player for computer teams go into free agency. If they don't get signed on a pre, they just sign a new deal.

Oh okay. This guy was 21 so that explains why I couldn't see the option. I have players that show up as free agents currently, not many but there are some there. Have they just been there from the start? Im in my 3rd season

Some will be players that start there. The game auto generates players every year that get dumped into the free agents list, mostly regens. Some will be VERY awful, but some will be good young players that can grow quite well. I usually have one of my GTN scouts scout quite a few of them throughout, if one turns out to my liking I sign him.

Total newbie question here guys but would appreciate a little direction.

If you're trying to sign a free agent do you have to wait until the transfer window is open? I've looked at multiple free agents but never get an option to sign them?

I haven't had a transfer window yet in my first season, so maybe i just need to wait?
