Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

2020-21 Season

After promotion the previous year, Martin expected to take Union Berlin to greater heights than in the rest of the clubs existence. Union Berlin had never played in the Bundesliga, and now has its shot to play against the best Germany has to offer. Union Berlin had an unusual pre-season where they defeated Swansea City 4-0 in a match where Union Berlin played their reserves, then were destroyed 3-0 by LOSC Lille playing their starters, and finally destroyed Chelsea 2-0 with Union Berlin playing their reserves, and Chelsea playing their starters.
In the transfer market, ST Yannis Mbombo (72 OVR) joined on a free transfer, CB Marko Nadarevic (73 OVR) was reintroduced on a loan with the option to purchase at the end of the season for $1,500,000. ST Ziggy Beck (71 OVR) was purchased from Celtic for $2,650,000, CB McGovern (70 OVR) joined for $2,000,000 from Crystal Palace, and CB Nation (70 OVR) joined from Tottenham Hotspur for $1,400,000. LM Dartsch was sold to Chelsea for $4,000,000, and ST Tonso was sold to Olympique Lyon for $17,000,000. Finally, young German CB Daniel Bulut (70 OVR) was brought in on free agency.
Union Berlin’s first Bundesliga match came at home against Bayern Munich which Union Berlin stunned the football world by winning 1-0 thanks to Dossevi’s goal in the 4’! It should be noted that Neuer was injured in Euro 20, and didn’t play.

Real Madrid defeated AC Milan 4-1 to win the Super Cup. In the league, Union Berlin had a good start, often moving from somewhere between 2-5th in the league table behind Wolfsburg. On the other hand the traditional powers were not fairing so well to start the season. After the fifth week, Bayern Munich was last, Borussia Dortmund was 2nd last, and Schalke 04 was 3rd last (I should have taken a picture). By Christmas Union Berlin was second to Wolfsburg in the table, as the traditional powers started to rapidly move up the Bundesliga table. However disaster struck Union Berlin as leading scorer Beck went down for 7 months with a torn ACL just before Christmas. Also Martin did not renew his contract as the manager of the Norwegian national team, as it pulled focus away from Union Berlin, and Martin felt he took Norway as far as they could go with their poor defense.

In the winter transfer window, Mbombo who was tied with the injured Beck in Bundesliga scoring was sold to Borussia Monchengladbach for the ridiculous price of $18,000,000. GK Amsif was sold to Vitesse for $5,000,000, and disgruntled CAM Azemi was sold to EA Guingamp for $1,100,000. LW Saint-Maximin (73 OVR) was purchased from St. Etienne for $4,000,000, CAM Cochis (69 OVR) was brought in from Belgrano in Argentina for 2,900,000. GK Nilsen (73 OVR) was brought in on loan from Viking, and ST Christodoulopoulos (72 OVR) was brought in from free agency. CAM Alexandru Maxim (80 OVR) from Stuttgart, and Benito Raman from Augsburg will be brought in on a free transfer for next season.

Union Berlin had an adequate start to the second half of the season, but recovered their form, and eventually surpassed Wolfsburg for the top spot in the Bundesliga. It was a tough, tight battle to the finish, as Union Berlin eventually won the Bundesliga with 77 points, as Wolfsburg finished second with 69 points (losing their last 2 games), Bayern Munich finished third with 66 points, Stuttgart fourth also with 66 points. Borussia Dortmund finished outside of a Champions League spot in fifth, and Schalke 04 sixth. Union Berlin completed the double winning the DFB Pokal by defeating Bayern Munich 1-0 in the final. Inter Milan won the Europa League beating Marseille 2-0 in the final. In the Champions League, all four English teams made the Semi Finals (Manchester United/ Manchester City, Chelsea/ Liverpool), where Manchester United took the crown over Chelsea 2-2 (5-4 on penalties) in the finals. We can only assume John Terry missed the decisive penalty kick.

Re: *The FIFA 15 Manager Mode Thread*

2021-2022 Season

I’m going to keep this short, I won the treble in 2022 with Union Berlin. I won the league with 83 points, 23 more than Bayern Munich. I defeated Borussia Dortmund in the DFB Pokal final 3-2, and beat Real Madrid 4-3 in the Champions League Final 4-3. In other major competitions, Manchester United beat Inter Milan 4-0 in the Super Cup, and also beat AS Monaco 2-0 to win the Europa League.

In international play I was the manager of the Netherlands for 1 day, defeated Northern Ireland 5-1, and then resigned after the Dutch squad failed to qualify for the World Cup. I then accepted the offer to manage the Brazilian National Team for the World Cup.
