Considering in general all the AI teams play roughly the same, its sort of odd

Yep. They're all Spurs fans. I think it was back in FIFA 12 they announced that they would be giving Spurs a boost whenever the user chose to play against them.

It's part of the dev team's conspiracy to get Spurs to the top of world football.
