I'm a pretty big OOTP Baseball fan, so I've always had an eye on Football Manager. The problem is I don't know anything about 'Football' so I'd be totally lost without some on field action.

Well, you do get to see your tactics play out within the course of a match in FM, so you'd be learning and adjusting as you went along. Plus there are a ton of FM tutorials out there.

Otherwise, my suggestion would be to pick up a FIFA game -- can be a fairly recent one, doesn't have to be a $60 preorder -- and dabble in the tactics/management side of football/soccer. There will be plenty to keep you entertained, and you can always dive into the deep end with FM once you have a grasp on things.

As a football fan, I think 14 is the better football game. Sure there are less bells and whistles, but on the pitch, 14 is much better, and much more balanced.
