New Player Attributes

Does anyone know if EA will be adding new player attributes to the current list for NHL 11?

Re: New Player Attributes

As far as I know...no new ones have been added.

But the info about '11' has been fairly scarce so far.

Re: New Player Attributes

something with poke checking/stick lifting is all I've seen

Source http://www.easports.com/blogs/inthec...sed-for-nhl-11
//Many people that I know have noticed that poke-checking has become extremely exploited and it is much too easy for the CPU or opposing players to gain control of the puck. This seems to have happened after the latest tuner set update. It’s quite frustrating, in every game mode when this happens, as it’s hard to keep control of the puck.

The poke-checking and puck control abilities have been looked at for NHL11. We have reworked the poke checks a little bit, and without going into too many technical details, each player has their own “stick check” attribute which will effect poke checks and stick lifts. We are working on balancing the poke check vs puck control and will do our best to ensure they are balanced.

Re: New Player Attributes

I wish there was a "pass reception" attribute. Sometimes a good pass should bounce off of a player's stick. And players with a good "pass reception" attribute could bring in bad passes (kicking the puck to the stick).

I know... but I can't tell you about them because of the NDA. I wrote down every attribute in my notes because I knew this question would come up eventually. Hopefully I'll get the OK to pass this info along at some point.

PS - Not trying to be smart about it. I wanted to give you some kind of an answer, but beyond that, my hands are tied...

Re: New Player Attributes

I'm still hoping there's a "leadership" attribute and a "toggle" which determines if players are actively involved in post-whistle scrums, because I'm tired of seeing guys like Datsyuk start pushing people for no reason and getting a penalty out of it.

Re: New Player Attributes

yeah I remember reading about the new stick check attribute. I live off the poke check, not spamming it, but hitting it just once on a well timed poke defensively - i can usually prevent any wanna be crosby from gettin it past me in EASHL.

guess now I have to dump a lot of points into this attribue, wonder what I will have to sacrifice to do this.

also, they better play test this balance, for 2 years straight everyone is the dangler with 99 puck control. if I put my stick right through the puck on a poke check, it should come loose regardless. and if it does come loose, it shouldn't automaticly be retrieved by the puck carrier 99% of the time before my guy even finished his single poke animation.

basicly, dont let attributes defy the laws of physics. same with hits. they keep saying size and weight will matter. if I am 6'2", 225 lbs flying at top speed but only have an 80 in checking - can I lay out a midget skater with 99 balance? in NHL10 I cannot, in fact I can't even get him to loose the puck on impact. he just takes the hit, and keeps on skating -- protected by his 99 balance and 99 puck control. So I just hope high attributes don't lead to unnatural gameplay once the exploiters get ahold of NHL11.....

Re: New Player Attributes

Qb,

Can you reveal if they have stretched the ranges from 0-99 instead of 50-99?
