This could tie in with EA's(lack of) presentation outside playing the actual game. What if at any point during the season your browsing through the standings or whatever and a commercial comes on(for CBC, NBC VS or whatever) and shows like the "Game of the Week" preview for the upcoming week. I'm not talking about a weekly recap show.
Like say a commercial plays showing the Leafs and Sens(highlights made up using in game cinematic highlights like the previews) saying the Leafs travel to Ottawa in another chapter of the Battle of Ontario at 7pm Eastern on Hockey Night In Canada.
Or if it was NBC's game of the week or whatever versus does. Pick a marquee game and a commercial would play "Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins host Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals with 1st place in the Eastern Conference on the line in NBC's NHL Game of the Week, this Sunday at 3pm EST.
Or, in the playoffs, show those excellent history will be made commercials or the commercial that showed interviews right after winning the cup with players, and at the end it says "There are no words, 20-whatever year it is Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Tell me it wouldn't add suspense to a game if you were tweaking strategies and editing lines right before Game 1 of the WCQF and the screen cuts out and this comes on (
