Post-Whistle Stoppage Way Too Quick

I noticed in NHL 13 that sometimes the span of time between a whistle being blown and the subsequent faceoff is literally only like 5 seconds. So if you don't get your line changes in IMMEDIATELY you're S.O.L. for the next faceoff. Throw in the fact that the computer sometimes decides to change your lines for you (even though you're on Manual) and this becomes a real pain in the ***. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, what's the point of having a setting for Post Whistle Penalty Calling if you are completely unable to do anything after the whistle 99% of the time? Is there some way to fix these issues? Is the only way to actually have a fight in this game to take one of your players out of position, skate up to an opponent, press Y and hope to god you don't get a unsportsmanlike penalty?

Again, it's a complain from people online and everyone, especially people offline, had to pay the price for making the online guys happy.

Online, since it took only one person to stall everyone by not pressing A, you had to see replays, cutscenes, etc. Not only that, but also the fact that you start a riot on the ice that would last 30 seconds 2 years ago and been toned down last year.

Answer from EA this year? No fooling around, cutscenes are short, replays shorter and no more riot after the whistle.

It makes the games feel you're eating in a McDonald's instead of a fine foods restaurant. It's just sad that EA can't understand that hockey is just like love, there's place for a quicky and place for long and slow pace!

reasons such as these are what make me detest online play. most of the people who play sports games online havent got a clue about the sport or how to play it properly. unfortunately thats where the money is, so its like it or lump im afraid. no post-whistle tussles are my biggest complaint this year!

other than johnny superbman the youtubing online hockey hacks can suck my !!! its your fault we get stupid tuners & lacking penalties

Well, I may be in the minority but I'm glad they keep things moving more quickly this year. I know post-whistle scrums are realistic, but they served no purpose in the game to me. Just kept me from playing hockey for a minute or two while people shoved each other around.

I get that others want that though. What if they tied the time after a whistle to your post-whistle slider? (whatever it is called). Set it to relaxed and you go quick to the next play. Set it on realistic and you get time to do your thing.

I've played a couple games online Kerosene and you're right, it's perfect that way. Like I said, it's just that EA needs to understand there's online feeling and there's offline feeling for the game. One thing doesn't prevent and shouldn't prevent the other one.

I like the idea of adding after whistle scrums to the game, but personally I don't think they were ever implemented right. In 11 and 12 sometimes when the whole team would start pushing each other over and over and over it was almost comical.

I'm glad they toned it down a little this year.

It would be easily to fix this, just have a slider for how long after the whistle you can have scrums, short (for online) or normal for offline.

Is it really that hard?

With the track record of EA and their sliders, likely wouldn't be functional anyway.
