cpu difficulty, cpu goalies and the "comeback" goals

I decided to test these out. I havent had many of the comeback goals that were cheesy, but some games I see what people maybe talking about. Last game I was up by 3 with 45 seconds to go. kept the cpu shots all to the outside. they scored on 3 straight shots from the blue line with no screen in front. my goalie simply acted as if he wasnt even there. it is possible in pro sports so be it. I am not complaining. But I did test out the cpu difficulty theory with the "comeback". I have been testing these since release day. here are my findings on all star.

0- cpu played a loose game. lost of room for me to maneuver and cpu was kind of boring to play. cpu passes up good chances and doesnt shoot much.

1- cpu advantage showed a few times in the game, but nothing crazy.

2- games seemed very run and gun the entire time. was a fair game except cpu doesnt shoot much at all.

3- cpu seemed fair. really pour it on at the end of the game. 3 games played and 2 were tied late by the cpu, but on fair goals. cpu goalie was fair as well. cpu shoots and their aggression seems elevated as well on 3.

4- every mistake I made ended up in my net as if the goalie wasnt there while their goalie was a brick wall

5- like 4 except up a notch (obviously) as far as the cpu dominating

6- cpu scored 4 goals on their first 4 shots and 3 probably should have been stopped. cpu got to every puck first, my body checks didnt even budge them and from the drop of the puck I knew I was in for quite a night.

I found that 3 wasnt bad for a challenging game, but it did get "cheesed up" at times. I may try to continue playing on 2, but the cpu not shooting much makes me wonder if I should.

What are these numbers? I'm trying to find any setting I can to stop the CPU BS. Lowering the CPU strategy sliders seems to work okay. Is that what these are?

The cpu difficulty is a known cpu boost slider that should be left at 0.

if you leave this at 0, what do you prefer for cpu learning and cpu strategy adjustment?

Well most seem to leave learning at 6 or whatever the highest level is. There seems to be differing opinions on strat adj. as the higher levels could be what's leading to the big comebacks some are seeing as the cpu ramps up the aggression late in games they are trailing.

QB did post somewhere on here that EA said the difficulty slider is indeed a cpu boost, at least that's what i think he said, lol.

Re: cpu difficulty, cpu goalies and the "comeback" goals

We've put our CPU Strat adjust slider at 3. With it higher, the CPU is too quick to make changes. Leaving it at 3 we figured out it allows the CPU to make mistakes and not react instantaneously to the action on the ice.

But, we are using these adjustments for Coach only sliders (Hurdinators). Great results so far.

with cpu difficulty at 0 is the cpu still competitive? i lent the game to my buddy so i dont have it on me right now. he wanted to see if it was different than 12 before buying.
