Is this idea a pipe dream or could it be in someday
I havent owned an NHL game in a couple of years now but im thinking NHL 14 will be a purchase.
Anyway, my thought was why not immerse the player into a long string of seasons with an olympic style tournament every four years. I know they may not get the full olympic license but it could be a generic international tournament. So the teams would be populated early on with real international teams and as you progress deeper into your career they become populated by up and coming computer generated players from your league.
For instance im playing a be a gm mode as the bruins and 12 years in it is time for the olympic style tournament again. The player gets to choose a nation to play as, say Sweden. The team is populated with some real Swedish NHLers that are still in the league, some computer generated players that were made up from sweden and in the NHL and some other Swedish players real and fake that might be playing in the Swedish league or any of the various leagues.
Obviously the logic dictates that the teams are drawn from the best players from that nation with an eye towards balancing the team. I know nothing about how games are made but I would assume none of this would be that difficult.
To me this would give the player another incentive to keep playing through the grind of career and keep the immersion level high.
Thoughts???Impossible or doable???
