Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

Few updates.

Aggressiveness Slider 50/50 (was 100/100)
Shot Accuracy 48/48 (was 50/50)
Slap Shot Accuracy 48/48 (was 50/50)
One Timer Accuracy 48/48 (was 50/50)
CPU Pass Accuracy 25 (was 0)

Reason for shot accuracy changes, too many pucks into the net. I play 7 minutes, default shot accuracy is 45, I added 3 clicks to it because I play 3 less minutes than default period length. It has worked out well so far. I then just made slap shot and one timer the same as well.

CPU Pass Accuracy I always have had at 0, but noticed for some reason they cycle more than shoot with it that way. I put it to 25, and boom, shot totals are up to solid ranges.

Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

Trying to catch up with the Pens actual schedule. Getting there.

Down 3-1 on the road, scored 4 unanswered, 2 on the PP (edit I lied 1 PP, must have been right after it expired). Solid end to a long road trip.

Below some screen shots of the Standings and League Leaders.

Having this attribute effect on 10 (even 9) seems to be working league wide. I think. Lol

I know one thing, it’s helping me score with the proper guys. Usually like Miz, my leading scorers would be 3rd/4th like guys. Horny, Hags, Rowney, McKeggs etc. Also my power play is fantastic because of this as well.

Lastly, ignore my goals for average, its slowly coming down. We had some wild ones to start the season.

Flat out dominated the Bruins on the road (Superstar). Rask was the man in this one. Marchand scored two goals, Crosby gets the only Pens goal and with the net empty the Pens couldn’t even get a sniff.

Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

Ok so, I think I’ve found the happy medium sliders with scoring via the Default set up and this possibly could help others with default set ups or even massive slider changes..

It has nothing to do with the shot accuracy and or goalie sliders. It’s the Fatigue Effect and Fatigue Recovery. I’ve been playing on set ups of 62/43 and 60/41. The 62/43 wasn’t all that bad because of all the other adjustments on my main slider set. But 60/41 set up via Default Sim (and me issuing an in-between Sim/Comp of those two) was lower Effect on the player skill via Fatigue.

Played a few at 65/33, then settled on 70/35. Basically going back to actual Default Sim 70/33. Long story, lol, this is the main slider that seems to Effect pucks in the net.

Had a 2-1 game on the road above VS. the Bruins with the above set up.

Then below returned home and beat the Bolts 4-1.

Damn this game! Lol

Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

Can anyone advise if the sliders seem to be much different that last years gane? I had a real good set for 17 and may try using them again because quite frankly I no longer have the energy to tinker like I once did. I’ve been waiting for a patch because they tend to screw up my sliders but I guess we’re not getting one anytime soon

I think you're asking whether 17-created custom sliders would work well with 18. IMO, it should be okay. I can tell you that I applied my own custom sliders from 18 to 17. And it reproduced pretty well. No reason it shouldn't work vice-versa.

But one thing you have to factor in is 18's defensive skill stick. In 17, there was no such thing. So defense was very boring. IMO, that led many slider creators to screw with puck control settings as a means of forcing "loose pucks" & creating puck battles. This had side-effects like random puck loss and poor breakaway/shoot-out play.

With the introduction of 18's defensive skill-stick, you can actually challenge puck carriers and loosen the puck...realistically. So IMHO, any imported slider set should take this new type of gameplay into account...and be modified.

Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

Still plugging away. First game in about a week!

I bumped CPU strat adjustment up from 3 to 6. Had a better competitive game on All-Star because of it.

Re: Fiddy's NHL 18 Sliders

After a 5 game home stand, Pens finally take to the road and meet an old friend Fleury in Vegas.

Welp...
