Question about choosing moves

Is there any reason to use moves like regular left and right hooks instead of using the power hooks?

Do the regular use less stamina? And if so does that offset what I am assuming comes with less damage done?

Also are there any must buy/use moves for different situations?

If you're talking about career mode, then go to moves (below attributes), and you can edit what move each button (or button combinations) does.

For me, the superman punch is a must, since it has a huge range, and when you get up from the ground, you can hit the opponent as soon as you're on your feet.
