Mike Goldberg leaving the UFC after UFC 207. How will this affect UFC games?

For those who don't know, Mike Goldberg & Joe Rogan are the main UFC commentators for all big cards.

So he just confirmed that UFC 207 will be his last event.

What do you think EA UFC 3 will do? I mean they have so many years of conversations between Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg to put in specific in-game situations, now what will happen? Will commentary get even worse?

Will they decide to keep Mike Goldberg & Joe Rogan commentary for EA UFC 3?

That is a bummer as Goldbergs and Rogans commentary on the game never gets stale and I will catch myself cracking up over some of their catch phrases like Goldbergs line during a knee to the head when you have someone against the cage "Simply Vicious" or his out of nowhere "And a Knee" lol. Joe Rogan is kind of mind boggling since I remember him as a comedian and the host of the roach eating Fear Factor. But for a guy who is an ex boxer and has been watching fights for 50 years he is one of the best analyst I have ever seen in a booth! The guy knows his sh!t inside and out and will see mistakes fighters are making -state them and the next thing you know BAM just as he called it. I am sad to hear that Golberg is leaving but I am certain he could find time and catch a payday to do UFC-3 as it wouldn't be the same without him!

What your talking about Joe always knowing whats going on in the fights....

Joe is actually the color commentator, and Goldy is supposed to be play by play...

Most people think Joe is the play by play, because Goldy has no idea what the hell he is talking about ever.

Your right but those terms are confusing and could both be better used just to describe Joe's job. Goldie's position should just be called MC, Ad Reader, or The Pro. Or something besides play by play...

I don't see a problem in keeping goldy in-game as a commentator. I really wish you could select commentators in UFC 3, a color and play-by-play.

In play by play you'd have: Goldy, Jon Anik, John Gooden (my favorite)

Color: Joe Rogan, Dan Hardy, Brian Stann (sorry kenny)

And you could combine however you'd want. This would be the s**t and would make goldy leaving a non issue. This could also help recreate legendary fights where joe and mike commentated on.

I can't stand this new guy. Ughhhhh he is going to be in UFC 3 as the commentary. He is replacing Mike Goldberg.

I'm a noob when it comes to MMA but I've always found Joe Rogan to be incredibly insightful. I consider him one of the best commentators in any sport.
IMO, he clearly knows his stuff and it shines through in every telecast.
Like you said, there are so many times he'll point something out and then BAM! it happens.
And to think that he had to beg and plead just to get an audition for the job.
I can't imagine anyone else doing it better.

Regarding UFC3, I'd bet that most of the commentary has already been laid down.
And since EA has rights to the UFC property, they have probably known about this for a while now and have prepped for it.
Chances are, they probably won't bring the new guy in, until UFC4.

Grisham isnt replacing Goldberg. Most of the time he will host the FS1 prefight and post fight shows. Anik is stepping in for Goldberg until they hire a new play by play guy.
