This is why we need more KO power in EA UFC (latest event spoiler)

Someone on reddit edited a clip from Edson Barboza vs Beneil Darioush very usefully https://streamable.com/yyajy

And it made me think of how useless pattern recognition is in EA UFC 1 and 2 because you can't punish opponents for using the same obvious combinations they keep going for.

Really hope that combo multiplier finally disappears in UFC 3, and single well put strikes get realistic damage to help reduce cheap combo spamming, and would make players take time to think & develop their technique during fights.

yeah, interrupt knee like Undisputed 3 is my first wish-list for EA UFC3.

I think that they're kind of already in EA UFC 2 aren't they? The gif I linked is something that is basically do-able in the game already, but it's only do-able when your opponent is already close to getting KOed which defeats the purpose of this because in that case even a jab or 2 can already get the job done

But in this fight, both fighters were playing very defensively and tactically throughout the whole fight, and Edson just caught him with perfect timing and execution, which you obviously can do in the game (strike at a perfect time with good execution) but your opponent will just eat it up like its nothing and keep throwing his legs around like a ballerina or easily take advantage of the combo multiplier while you're trying to fight realistically and catch your opponent by reading his/her tendencies.

Very much looking forward to see what they do and hope to not be let down hard again.

No there is no intercept knee in UFC 2.

You can get KOs throwing flying knees, or flying body knees when an opponent shoots a takedown but it doesn't really look right, and rarely connects on the chin. You usually hit them in the chest or shoulder or something and somehow get a KO off of it.

We need an actual intercept knee.

But yeah I totally agree with your post. Do away with the goofy combo multiplier, make single strikes more powerful, make timing more important.

Ive literally seen people throw the same exact combination over and over all fight and somehow actually be successful doing it... The current striking system is way to focused on unrealistic combos.

GPD liking this gives me hope. Would like to see probabilities change with predictability.

I want EA MMA's KO system back. A well-timed counter = nights out. There was always that threat of a legit 1 punch KO without it being fueled by pure RNG
