Why can't you catch headkicks?

It's insanely difficult to do IRL and we almost never see it. The way you (or at least this is how I was taught) catch body kicks is to elbow block it and like whip your arm over the leg on impact. I've probably described that poorly, but the point is that if you try it on a high kick, you'll probably get hit pretty hard in the head and fail to catch it, or catch it and immediately lose it because your arms is in an awkward position above your head.

Because in real life they usually only do it when the person throwing it isn't throwing it as hard or fast as they can. AKA they throw a lazy headkick. Trying to catch a full speed headkick is a great way to be KO'd in real life.

Front kicks to the head get caught fairly often

Yeah, I've seen a lot of people catch front kicks. Lima caught one of Rory's front kicks iirc, Rory throws it a lot and I'm pretty sure Lawler has caught it too.

I'm too lazy to find a gif but I know Machida has had his caught before as well.

Plus in general they're just much more easy to catch than roundhouse due to their nature

you should be able to catch it but still take the hit and damage, look at henderson vs lombard.

A kick usually has to land for you to catch it. I'd much rather you were able to catch leg kicks...
