Game is being tuned to the point of only the elite being able to play.

By elite i mean basically the best fighters in each weight class.

With all the nuances and minuscule changes that are being made, with many of the changes coming from people that exclusively use the best fighters in the game, it is essentially making every other fighter useless.

Block breaking down moving forward might not be a big deal for Conor Mcgregor or tony Ferguson, sure makes a huge difference when i pick ross pearson, or any other crap fighter in any division.

Is that the game we are aiming for? Where everyone uses the same fighters and fights the same way? Because that is the game that is currently happening.

Facts that was a big thing I loved about ufc 2 almost everyone had a legit chance even CM Punk. What would you say would help/ reverse the problem though?

Re: Game is being tuned to the point of only the elite being able to play.

I just wish the strengths of the lower tier guys was highlighted

Someone like Saki is rated perfectly and I’d love to see more of that

If a guy has a kickboxing background I’d love for his stats to be 90ish. If he has a grappling background the same thing. Just make sure their weak areas are very pronounced like low 80s.

Then let the contenders have 90-95ish range for their strengths but mid-high 80s for weakness unless it’s very pronounced (Maia striking, Overeem chin).

And let chin/heart/ stamina have nothing to do with tiers.

I think a rating system like that would create more balance amonst the roster.

But I know UFC has control over ratings so they want their stars inflated some.

Still much better than it was in UFC 2.

this is a huge thing that I've thought about but never communicated.

lots of these guys who are lower ranked are still absolutely outstanding in some facets, but the devs just rate them crap all over

I felt like the head health regeneration "Glitch" if we could call it that, actually made playing lower guys viable. I was still able to knock McGregor out with someone like Edgar.

I'd argue that Ross Pearson isnt supposed to be viable on higher levels of ranked unless you are a significantly better player than your opponent.

Thats harder than you think. There are multiple levels that the ratings went through for UFC 3.

The first level is typically realism based. This is the stage that the devs let me have some input on.

Then the second step is the team will look at the ratings and attempt to balance them a little. The changes surprisingly arent significantly different. I dont recall anything more than maybe 1-3 point changes.

Then we all discussed the changes and landed on ratings that we all were comfortable with.

Then the UFC steps in. So you may think that someone like Dan Hooker should have an 90 in striking. Well, if the UFC doesnt agree, the team has to make the changes to meet those numbers.

Surprisingly the UFC didnt really skew the ratings towards stars. Their input was on alot of fighters that you wouldnt even think they would care about.
