How do I touch gloves now?

I did not play the game for quite awhile. I was used to touching gloves at the begining of fights using one of the directional buttons. Now post patch the same button is taunting!

My question is, post patch - How do I touch gloves?

Any help is appreciated!

I think its R1 and pressing towards the opponent.

Hold L1 at the beginning of the fight and walk towards your opponent.

If you perform any other action, you'll lose the ability to touch gloves.

If your opponent does any other action, you'll also lose the ability to touch gloves.
