New interview with Brian Hayes. Goes over a very big change for grappling gameplay.

Al-Shatti: That was actually my next question. How expanded should fans expect this roster to be? Are we talking at least top-15 of every division?

Hayes: So, it's tricky to say. I don't know if I can say top-15 of every division, because I don't know what the rankings will look like on the day we ship. But even if there were a top-15 in every division, that would only be 150 fighters. That is well under the roster number that the final game will ship with. We're going to have significantly more fighters than that.

I can't say the final number just yet, because again there might be some movement on the UFC's part. Somebody might get cut from the UFC who we thought was going to be on the roster, but now they're not going to be. So I can't give a specific number. But top-15 in every division, that's a breeze. We will have more fighters than that, for sure.
As long as he's not counting legends/fake fighters and fighters in multiple divisions as different fighters then things are sounding super promising roster wise.

Wow. He said there will be well over 150 fighters in the new game. I saw a post on Twitter where I saw pics of guys like U Hall and Charles Olivera. So I think it's safe to assume Wonder Boy Michael Johnson A Sterling Tony Ferguson T Almeida etc are in. With such a massive roster it's absolutely IMPERATIVE fighters have an individual feel. Imagine a massive roster and they all feel.the same. Would kill it for me

I cant say more but I can assure that the team and the gamechangers are working on this.

Might just be optimism but I'm guessing GPD sent the gamechangers to compile data for, hopefully, a tendencies system.

good to hear. One thing I'm impressed with is their willingness to listen to ppl and impliment changes. Btw if Keith Jardine isn't the cover athlete I'm not buying it

Classes like Straweight are unlikely to even have 15 (are there 15 straweight's on the UFC's roster?) so the more popular weightclasses are probably going to be pretty loaded. That's really, really good news.

The new grappling system is also really exciting. The current system, which is very similar to what we've had since the first UFC game, is the most jarring, unrealistic part of the game. And it's for the exact reasons the developer said, so I think they really get it.
