Clearly you never played UFC Undisputed, where blocking was R1 to the head and R2 to the body...

If you cant defend against the MT clinch strikes in UFC 2 now, you would have no chance if R1 was block head and R2 was block body.

Re: Muai thai block needs to be R1 head R2 body

Though i'm very use to this coming from the undisputed series, I think they have it right with the way they have done it. Unless there were some obvious tells, you would get hammered by the knee mix ups cuz in this game the thai knees are very powerful. What made undisputeds thai clinch work was cuz the knees to the body were not near as powerful as knees to the head, unless they were whip knees. So you could block your head and eat some knees to the body, no biggie. Also you could avoid certain knees in the thai clinch by moving as the defender. For example if you held left stick away from your opponent while he had you in thai clinch, you would pull your head up for a while and he would only be able to knee you in the body. But if he held left stick away, he could pull you towards him, thus bringing your head back down and allowing him to knee you to the head once again. Movement while in the clinch played a pretty decent roll in undisputeds clinch system. This game...not so much. It's more about being able to use the basic defense.

Zack and I just brutalized eachother in the clinch on that version.

Robalboa, did you read Tweedy's threads on how to defend the against the MT clinch?

and explain how ? right now its total guessing and not even close in line with ufc statistics

and R1 head hows that a nightmare. the game delay is the nightmare

if your right then they should add it too all stand up

but your not imagine if there was 2 blocks to the head outside the clinch
thats the nightmare

imagine you had to block head shots with r1 and r2 outside the clinch . that would be a nightmare

i have no clue how one "less" block needed could even remotely make it worse.

If you can't tell the difference between a punch to the head vs a knee to the head, there's no hope for you anyway.

Did every other MMA game have high low blocking in the clinch though?

I don't remember clinch blocking issues in UD, or EA MMA.

I'm fine with it how it is. If you guys are saying it was a problem the other way I believe you, just seems weird without actually playing it I guess.
