Use demian maia alot gunnar nelson, alistair has underrated submission skills even though majority of his wins are by way of sub.

For submissions my favorites are obvious Maia and Jacare. But most underrated is Durinho (Gilbert Burns). I have not been able to make Nelson work for me, unfortunately; he was one of the first I wanted to get good with but I just wasn't happening

Faber is deadly with a guillotine from sprawl too

Any one else have some solid submission guys?

I love Burns man. I thought I was probably the only guy out there playing as him, but i guess not. LOL. His stats look rough, but when you look at his moves in Practice you see he has very very high level stuff. He's a beast on the ground.

Gunnar Nelson is one of my absolute favorite MMA fighters, but he's just not that good in the game. His 76 top game, and equally low off the back stats are a major killer for him. That 76 top game is just insane to me, considering Gunni is just a straight up octopus when he has you on the ground.

---
As far as other Sub guys I like to use:

Frank Mir at HW is one of the best sub guys in the game. He has all sorts of cool, unique stuff, and really great Sub reversals.

Do Bronx, and T-City at FW are both SUB machines also. Ortega looks like he has low stats, but has multiple high level triangle chokes.

Some subs added to dom backside would be cool. Subs from range and against the cage also are needed.

I love Durinho. I play with Burns more than anyone else. Even though he's a beast the people behind gsme development and stats piss me off. This and Gunnar Nelson are prime examples. I'm sure the same (lack of) disparity exists in wrestling and standup, I'm just unaware. But the people making these decisions should not be so concerned with UFC records and base skills and rating on things like that. To not realize that Werdum, Jacare, and Maia are three of the best grapplers the world has ever seen (or at least show they know it by making more of a difference in ratings and leveled move sets). Is a big wiff. Durinho is an absolute killer, world class grappler. And yes, to your point, once Nelson gets you down his pressure game and lack of space should make escaping the feet extremely difficult. Nelson and Burns have really unrealistic grappling ratings. So does BJ Penn now that I think about it.

This game should start by stratifying each fighter in each discipline. For each stratification your ratings can be manipulated within a range. BJJ for example would have level 1 for world class grapplers. Then a level for guys like Pettis, Faber, Rockhold, Weidman, dos Anjos, Diaz etc. but let's put an very obvious gap between very good and great.

At the moment, I can be playing with an average fighter with decent submission defense and be half out of stamina with Maia on my back -- yet not be all that worried. This isn't right.
